Foundation FAQs

1. Tinted Moisturizers? Although the natural market doesn't offer any really pure tinted moisturizers yet, you can easily create your own by using either our Ambodi Foundation or Earth's Beauty Mineral Colours with your favorite facial moisturizer. Just find a mineral powder that matches your skin tone and blend some with your moisturizer until you get the perfect consistency. Blending can even be done in the palm of your hand just prior to application.
2. I have dry skin and need a full coverage cream foundation, what do you recommend? Unfortunately we haven't been able to find a full coverage liquid foundation that meets our purity criteria yet. We do pretty extensive scans of the organic skin care market every 3-6 months, but so far we haven't been able to find a pure enough formula. Most of our dry skin customers end up applying a dry skin formula facial moisturizer first, let it absorb for 2 minutes, blot with a towel, and then use a kabuki brush to apply a full coverage mineral make-up like Ambodi.
3. Why is the Miessence Translucent Liquid Foundation on clearance? Once we run out, we will no longer carry Miessence's liquid foundation due to poor sales. The liquid foundation contains strong plant extracts and sugar cane alcohol, which can be irritating to people with sensitive skin. Also, the liquid formula does not offer much coverage.
4. Why did you stop selling NVEY ECO's Organic Creme Deluxe Foundation? Does it no longer meet your criteria? NVEY's Creme Foundation Compact still meets our minimum purity requirements. We no longer offer it because it was a very poor seller (about one 3rd of our NVEY inventory expired before we could sell it). Although we sold a ton of samples, very few customers returned to buy the full size.
5. Would you consider selling NVEY ECO's Moisturizing Liquid Foundation? No. Unfortunately, NVEY's liquid foundation contains Rose Absolute, which is a solvent extracted rose essential oil. We tried to convince NVEY to switch to a pure steam distilled rose essential oil, but they declined.
