MetaCare is a chemical-free healing therapeutic lotion developed for skin disorders, cracking dry skin and minor abrasions. MetaCare combines pharmaceutical grade ingredients in therapeutic proportions of Neem and Karanja oil. Both Neem and Karanja are in maximum strength levels and have legendary healing properties while also acting as insect repellents for fleas, tick, mosquitoes, black flies and lice. Karanja is a natural low-level UVA & UVB sunscreen. Fantastic Anti-Tick Prevention for Dogs

We have two dogs (papillions) and live in rural New Hampshire. The dogs are small and weigh 5 pounds and 12 pounds and are mostly house dogs, but go outside frequently. The ticks here are ruthless in the spring and summer time. I refuse to apply toxic tick treatments like Frontline to my dogs, so we have been looking for something natural and safe that actually works. Thanks to Keys we have finally found an effective and easy solution!! We wash the dogs with Key's MetaClean Shampoo and then apply 1/2 to 1 pump size amount of Key's MetaCare Lotion to the back of their necks, just behind their head (similar to how you would apply Frontline). It works like a champ!! The dogs were each getting 3-5 new ticks each day before we tried this new regime. The treatment last for about 1 week (it may last longer, but I haven't experimented yet). Neither dog has had a single tick since we started applying MetaCare to their necks. I re-apply the MetaCare once per week and sometimes bathe them (if they are dirty) with MetaClean Shampoo. The dogs don't seem to like the smell of the MetaCare for the 1st hour, but it doesn't seem to bother them after that. It smells fine to us. The only drawback is that the cream is yellow [from the neem oil], and our dogs are white and brown. So you can see the yellow tint on the back of their necks, but we don't care as long as it deters ticks.
Note: The above regime doesn't kill existing ticks or make them fall off, so make sure you remove all the existing ticks (with tweezers...or by using Key's RediCare) before you bathe them the first time. It is a great Preventative regime though!
Tip: MetaCare lotion can also be applied directly to tick bites to speed healing.
