Island Rx is a remarkable soap formulated for sensitive skin - for the entire body. It is a therapeutic body and face wash. Island Rx was the first product we developed. With over 100 initial versions, the product was developed for Wendy Steele after her bout with Melanoma. The basis for Island Rx is a 300 year old Castile soap recipe with holistic and naturopathic influences in the form of healing essential oils, a Micelle that resembles the antioxidant properties of natural glacier water and the addition of softening oils like avocado, jojoba and the power of Aloe Vera. Once again Island Rx Therapeutic Bath Soap by Keys Soap and Metacare lotion or Tortuga lotion Combo

I wrote a review in 2007 about how well this soap and the lotion worked for my son. I now have a daughter who also has eczema and once again this is the best combo ever (this soap, Metacare lotion or Tortuga lotion) . As soon as I saw the signs of eczema with my daughter at 2 month old I started these products, immediately - just like with my son - the "itchy bumps" and scars cleared up completely with in a few days. These products not only clear their skin of a break out, it prevents their contact eczema from spreading, when used regularly it keeps break out frequency WAY down, and their skin heals beautifully (even the scars etc). In fact my kids get so many compliments on their skin, and even though this is due to our diet as well, I contribute a lot of the credit to these products.
I HIGHLY recommend these products to everyone but especially those with eczema and it cousins....it has truly been a problem solver in my home (along with diet) for going on 4 years now and for both my children.

I personally don't find this cleanser very effective for cleansing make-up and oily skin. It leaves a sort of sticky feeling after a rinse.
Pure Complexions Comments: This customer makes a great point. Island Rx uses saponified oils as its soap base, so it does leave a slight film on the skin (the film contains glycerin which has great moisturizing properties - so Island Rx is especially ideal for people with dry to dry-normal skin and those with eczema, but may be less desirable for those with oily skin).

EXCLLENT!!!!! My 1/2 year old son is overcoming eczema and recently had a bad episode that left bad scars on his back from so much scraching. I got a sample of this and the metacare lotion, and truly within a 2-3 days there was significant difference. Now after a week he is completely healed up and scars are almost completely faded.
I have used many other natural lotions etc but Nothing has ever worked like this BIG blessing!

Island Rx is a great face & body soap. We noticed profound healing effects after the 2nd day of use. Works great on acne and eczema prone skin! It started healing lesions right away and with daily use, helped keep our skin clear. The liquid soap is concentrated, so a little goes a long way, and easily lathers for an ultra clean feel. When used with a nylon scrubby or bath sea sponge things got really sudsy. It has a moderate to strong spicy aroma (solvent-free). Overall, an excellent product, that we highly recommend.

- Did keys change their Island Rx formula? The bottle is now labeled "Island Rx Therapeutic Castile Shampoo and Soap" it used to be labeled "Island Rx Therapeutic Bath Soap". Are they the same? Yes - they are the same. Keys recently gave Island Rx a more descriptive name. It is the essentially the same core formula, but the scent may be slightly different. They changed the type of sage essential oil (EO) they use from dalmation sage to clary sage. They also now use a higher quality blood orange EO. Ultimately, the product is the same - Keys only makes one Island Rx formula (which is available in either a foamer bottle or regular bottle (as seen on this page)).
